



'El medio es lo que cuenta' es la traducción correcta de 'The medium is the message', nos dice el autor. Con ello abre toda una discusión filosófica acerca de cómo los medios -ahora las redes sociales- delinean, configuran nuestros modos de orientarnos en el mundo y de actuar en él; nuestra subjetividad. Contrariamente a la postura que tomaría a los medios solo como una herramienta, esta obra expone cómo ellos van más allá y generan nuestros patrones de percepción, cognitivos, morales y de conducta.

After more than thirteen years studying and teaching philosophy in Germany I began to teach and research at the University of Puebla (BUAP), Mexico. Since then I published mainly on Heidegger, Gadamer, and on aesthetic issues. Since 2003 I have led collective research programs on new media supported by several grants, and continuously publish about this subject. I founded by the end of 2008 the WEB site www.philosophyofnewmedia.com for organizing collective research activities through it. In February 2008 I was appointed president of the Society of Phenomenology and Media. In February 2016 I was appointed Chair of the mentioned society.
